Kids Love Nature Kindergarten at Lymington are seeking an enthusiastic gardener to develop and maintain our wonderful outdoor learning environment around 3/4 acre in size and oversee our small holding. We require a knowledgeable and skilled gardener to add the detail in making the space both beautiful to look at and a fabulous sensorial experience for the children at the kindergarten.
This will include; extensive planting to add colour and scents, maintaining a small allotment space, introducing areas and plants to ensure the garden attracts a wide variety of local birds and insects, the usual garden maintenance and supporting creating new and exciting learning spaces for the children.
You will also be passionate about sharing your knowledge and skills with the children and adults of the kindergarten so they are fully immersed in the experiences you are creating, including a deep understanding of seed to plate growing, cultivating and looking after plants, understanding the important role of living things to support the rich biodiversity in the habitats you create.
You will have a generous budget for development and maintenance of the space.
This is a part time position with some flexibility in hours to ensure maintenance of the space at the weekend during the hotter months.
Start date: TBC
Salary: £13,197.60 per annum
Hours: 20 per week between 9.00 and 13.00 including some weekend work when required
